The tree cover that makes The Woodlands desirable is the thing that makes it hard to photograph. Heavy canopy means dappled light across a facade at midday, deep shade on one side of a house and blown-out sky on the other, and a street view that often shows more foliage than home.
The fix is partly timing — shooting a given elevation when the light is on it rather than behind it — and partly elevation. An aerial frame from thirty or forty feet clears the canopy and shows the roofline, the lot shape and the greenbelt or golf course behind it in one image.
Interiors here tend toward larger custom homes with vaulted spaces and two-storey windows, which are a bracketing problem: expose for the room and the windows go white, expose for the windows and the room goes dark. Every interior I deliver is blended so both read correctly.
